“終身教育”這一術(shù)語自1965年在聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文2113組織主持召開的成人教育促進(jìn)國(guó)際會(huì)議期間,由聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織成人教育局局5261長(zhǎng)法國(guó)的保羅·朗格朗4102(Paul Lengrand)正式提出以來,短短數(shù)年,已經(jīng)在世界各國(guó)廣泛1653傳播,近30年來關(guān)于終身教育概念的討論可謂眾說紛紜,甚至迄今為止也沒有統(tǒng)一內(nèi)的權(quán)威性定論。

師曠是我國(guó)古代著名的音樂家。一天,師曠正為晉平公演奏,忽然聽到晉平公嘆氣說:“有很多東西我還不知道,可我現(xiàn)在已70多歲,再想學(xué)也太遲了吧!” 師曠笑著答道:“那您就趕緊點(diǎn)蠟燭啊。” 晉平公有些不高興:“你這話什么意思?求知與點(diǎn)蠟燭有什么關(guān)系?答非所問!你不是故意在戲弄我吧?” 師曠趕緊解釋:“我怎敢戲弄大王您啊!只是我聽人說,年少時(shí)學(xué)習(xí),就像走在朝陽(yáng)下;壯年時(shí)學(xué)習(xí),猶如在正午的陽(yáng)光下行走;老年時(shí)學(xué)習(xí),那便是在夜間點(diǎn)起蠟燭小心前行。燭光雖然微弱,比不上陽(yáng)光,但總比摸黑強(qiáng)吧。”晉平公聽了,點(diǎn)頭稱是。人生感悟:活到老學(xué)到老 知無涯,生有涯,活到老學(xué)到老。 自誕生之日起,學(xué)習(xí)就成為整個(gè)人類及其每一個(gè)個(gè)體的一項(xiàng)基本活動(dòng)。從幼年、少年、青年、中年直至老年,學(xué)習(xí)將伴隨人的整個(gè)生活歷程并影響人一生的發(fā)展。古人說:“書山有路勤為徑,學(xué)海無涯苦作舟。”沒有止境地學(xué)習(xí),是每一個(gè)向上者必要的。人要想不斷地進(jìn)步,就得活到老學(xué)到老。在學(xué)習(xí)上不能有厭足之心。 之所以提出終身學(xué)習(xí)的觀點(diǎn),因?yàn)槿祟悗浊攴e累下來的知識(shí)文化,豈是只用短短幾十年的一生能學(xué)得完的呢?故先賢莊子曾說:“吾生也有涯而知也無涯。”何況現(xiàn)代社會(huì)的知識(shí)壽命大為縮短,個(gè)人用十幾年所學(xué)習(xí)的知識(shí),會(huì)很快過時(shí)。如果不再學(xué)習(xí)更新,馬上就進(jìn)入所謂的“知識(shí)半衰期”。據(jù)統(tǒng)計(jì),當(dāng)今世界90%的知識(shí)是近三十年產(chǎn)生的,知識(shí)半衰期只有五至七年。而且,人的能力就像電池一樣,會(huì)隨著時(shí)間和使用而逐漸流失。因此,人們的知識(shí)需要不斷“加油”、“充電”。 當(dāng)今時(shí)代,世界在飛速發(fā)展,知識(shí)更新的速度日益加快,人們要適應(yīng)變化的世界,就必須努力做到活到老、學(xué)到老,要有終身學(xué)習(xí)的態(tài)度。以老人為例,也得學(xué)會(huì)如何使用洗衣機(jī)、微波爐甚至是電腦,不然享受不了科技帶來的樂趣與便捷。 終身學(xué)習(xí)這方面,魯迅先生是榜樣,先生在臨死前一個(gè)小時(shí)還在寫文章呢!還有華人首富李嘉誠(chéng),他每天晚上看書學(xué)習(xí),這個(gè)好習(xí)慣已堅(jiān)持了幾十年。更有甚者認(rèn)為,只是“活到老,學(xué)到老”還遠(yuǎn)遠(yuǎn)不夠,比爾·蓋茨就講過一句話:在21世紀(jì),人們比的不是學(xué)習(xí),而是學(xué)習(xí)的速度。在現(xiàn)今的企業(yè)環(huán)境里,沒有打不破的鐵飯碗。你的工作在今天可能不可或缺,可是這并不意味著明天這個(gè)職位仍然有存在的必要,所以我們必須用不斷學(xué)習(xí)來防患于未然。 世間有“知足者常樂”一說。而且,大多數(shù)人都承認(rèn),知足常樂是一種美德。的確,這是一種美德。但是,一切事物都有其存在的環(huán)境,知足常樂的道理也是如此。在物質(zhì)生活上,知足者常樂。如果不知足,就永遠(yuǎn)不會(huì)有幸福。而在事業(yè)上,在學(xué)習(xí)上,總是知足就會(huì)裹足不前。所以,在學(xué)習(xí)上,要知道精進(jìn)才行。未來社會(huì)的競(jìng)爭(zhēng),必將會(huì)從今天的人才競(jìng)爭(zhēng)轉(zhuǎn)向?qū)W習(xí)能力的競(jìng)爭(zhēng)。我們每個(gè)人,都應(yīng)該樹立終身學(xué)習(xí)的全新理念,并做到在學(xué)習(xí)中工作,在工作中學(xué)習(xí)。真正實(shí)現(xiàn)自我完善、自我超越。
