詞源解說法
中國人有“學而優(yōu)則仕”的觀念，而英語單詞master其實也含有類似的含義。master來自拉丁語magister，表示“首領、領頭人、指導者、教授者”。magister中的magis表示“更多、更大”，所以magister的本意是“學識更多的人，更偉大的人”，也就是“佼佼者”的意思。因為他比別人學識淵博，所以他既能當老師，指導別人做事，又能走上仕途，擔任領導職務。
